GROUP THERAPY

(2020, 87min)

An anthology documentary made up of quarantine based user submissions. There was no theme, no guidelines, no rules. We simply asked -- send us whatever it is that you've enjoyed during this time.

We received vertical videos, short films, music videos, and even book reviews -- all of which are featured here. Every submission was used, and none of the footage has been touched or manipulated in any way. That is perhaps one of my favorite aspects as some of the footage was tripped up during exports or transfers to us, thus providing for a more experimental nature overall. We called them "happy accidents."

The clips themselves not only serve as little celebrations of their creators, but carry beautiful weight and meaning: a young woman playing piano goes through three songs -- each I believe representing a different state of isolation -- while in another scene a young man dances to Flume as the lyrics echo our own fears of the world.
